TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 2026

Eclipse Photography from Spain

Total solar eclipse diamond ring effect with moon silhouette and corona glowing through dramatic orange clouds, Ibiza, Spain — rare astronomical event photography, August 2026
The corona at totality over Ibiza during the 12 August 2026 eclipse, photographed with the sun roughly three degrees above the western sea horizon. The low angle is why the corona reads amber and gold rather than the usual silver-white — the light is
The partial phase of the 12 August 2026 eclipse, with a narrow crescent of the sun's surface still exposed along the lower limb of the moon. Heavy cloud sits across the frame, backlit into bronze and copper by the remaining light. With the sun only a
The diamond ring, photographed at the edge of totality on 12 August 2026 from Ibiza. A single point of the sun's surface remains visible at the upper limb of the moon while the inner corona has already emerged as a complete ring around the disc. The
Totality on 12 August 2026, seen from the west coast of Ibiza with the sun barely three degrees above the Mediterranean. A band of low cloud sits beneath the eclipsed sun and catches the light in orange, while the corona shows as a small bright ring
The diamond ring through broken cloud seconds before totality, Ibiza, Spain, 12 August 2026 — the sun only a few degrees above the horizon, which is why the cloud burns copper.
Totality on 12 August 2026 above Ibiza, with solar prominences visible as red arcs along the upper limb of the moon. Prominences are loops of plasma held above the sun's surface by its magnetic field, and they can only be seen with the naked eye duri
Third contact on 12 August 2026, the moment totality ends over Ibiza and the first sunlight returns along the lower edge of the moon. The disc itself stays faintly visible against the sky, ringed by the last of the corona, while cloud drifts diagonal
Deep totality on 12 August 2026 over Ibiza. The corona surrounds the moon as a continuous ring here, brightest along the upper edge and fading outward into the dark, with a single red prominence still visible at the upper left limb. No cloud crosses
The partial phase on 12 August 2026 over Ibiza, with roughly a third of the sun already covered from the lower right. Cloud thick enough to look at directly has reduced the sun to a soft pale disc, its edges diffused rather than sharp, and the whole
An early stage of the partial phase on 12 August 2026 above Ibiza, with the moon just beginning to encroach on the lower right of the sun. Filtered through a solar filter, the disc renders as a clean orange circle against black, and a scattering of s
The partial phase on 12 August 2026 off the west coast of Ibiza, the sun reduced to a crescent and sitting just above a flat Mediterranean horizon. A single sailing boat with its mast raised drifts across the lower left of the frame, silhouetted agai
A late stage of the partial phase on 12 August 2026 over Ibiza, the sun worn down to a thin crescent tilted on its side. Shot long, so the sun sits unusually large in the frame against a sky burned to deep red-orange, with the Mediterranean below it
